The Heart of Michigan 10k is the first race Brandy and I ran in 2011! The 10k route was beautiful starting outside of downtown Lansing, looping down by the Lansing River Trail, and ending right in front of the State’s amazing Capitol Building.
I will admit, the weather that day was not the best as it was cold, windy, and raining. It took everything Brandy and I had to force ourselves to start the race! I was extremely proud of myself this race. I walked/ran the first 1/2 mile with Brandy and then ran the entire rest of the rest! Running around six miles straight was such an accomplishment for myself!
